Confronted with the small frustrations of most designs on the market: drooping sticks, scattered ash, and awkward cleanup, we wanted a solution that made the ritual of burning incense pleasantly tactile– like folding a Scrabble board to funnel tiles back into the bag. The result is the Crease Incense Holder, which combines elegant stone blocks with an anodized aluminium base that neatly collects ash.
By setting the hole of the second stone block slightly lower, the two pieces together create an offset that clamps narrow incense reeds, holding them steady and horizontal. The piece is a study in material negotiation—simple geometry, luxury stone tempered by industrial restraint, and the little rituals that make objects feel rewarding.
Materials: Marble, Quartz, Anodized Aluminium
Dimensions: 10”L x 2”W x 2.5”H
Instructions: To use, place the red marble block behind the other stone, ensuring the off-centred hole is oriented lower than centre. Then thread your incense reed first through the centred hole, and then into the off-centre hole. This will hold even narrow reeds horizontally, without drooping.
