Annaka Hoelk Studio is the work of Vancouver-based industrial designer Annaka Hoelk. Fascinated by the idea of timelessness and the richness of design history, Annaka’s work often references common themes and forms, creating pieces rooted in the familiar but exploring new possibilities. The studio creates furniture, lighting, and objects that settle naturally into the home, both visually and functionally, while subtly challenging convention.

01_DESIGNER

After graduating from Emily Carr University with a degree in Industrial Design, Annaka founded the studio to create the kinds of objects she felt were missing from the market– pieces she wanted to live with in her own home.

02_ETHOS

Guided by a love for clean architectural lines and rooted in modernist principles, our products thoughtfully arrange simple forms into complex compositions using colour, transparency and light.

03_PROCESS

For us, design begins with context. Every piece is imagined as it will be lived with–how it will be used, styled, and experienced within a home. This mindset informs the entire design process, from initial sketches to final production.

04_MATERIALITY

The studio collaborates closely with skilled makers to ensure each object is executed with precision and care in its chosen material. Rather than working exclusively with certain materials, we tailor our decisions to needs of each design.
