Pulling from the familiar archetype of the cone lampshade, but modernizing it with industrial materials and architectural shapes, the Nui Floor Lamp unites art and function while addressing lighting’s most enduring talent: the ability to transform space. By translating outdated beige cloth to stainless steel and further interrupting the shape with a shard of acrylic, this sculptural piece of lighting feels ultra-modern yet remains oddly approachable through its nod to traditional lighting forms. Locally manufactured in Vancouver, the Nui Floor Lamp is striking addition to any space it inhabits.
